The concept of the FTDX101 is a combination of a state-of-the-art, direct-sampling SDR and a hybrid SDR with a classic mixer and high-quality quartz filters in the middle frequency. On the one hand, the HF signal is digitized directly, but after a complex pre-filter, on the other hand, there is a parallel signal path on which the signal is mixed down to an IF of 9 MHz with the same pre-filter; and only then digitized.
This two-pronged approach opens up many possibilities: things like a wide (max. 1 MHz) spectrum and waterfall diagrams can be displayed without compromise, but at the same time it also offers the best receiver characteristics for selection at close range: The reception branch via the IF stage is with Equipped with quartz ceiling filter.
