Product Description:The ATAS-120A is a motorized, tuned vertical antenna for vehicle or stationary installation. A motor moves a coil up and down and thus always tunes the antenna perfectly. The achieved SWR is usually always equal to or better than 1.2:1, no tuner is required.
The antenna is controlled either directly from the Yaesu radio or by means of a control unit that feeds the tuning signal. Only the coaxial cable is needed - the tuning signal is fed through the coaxial together with the HF signal. The lower part with the motor is approx. 525 mm high, the stainless steel radiator approx. 920 mm. The total installation height is variable (depending on the band) and is approx. 1.4 to 1.600 meters. Diameter at the bottom max. 46 mm, weight approx. 900 g, connection PL connector. For stationary operation, counterweights (radials) are required to replace the vehicle body. The antenna must be mounted on a permanently mounted PL bracket. A magnetic base alone is not enough to connect the antenna well to the vehicle body (if you still want to use a magnetic base, you must solve a good HF ground by galvanic connection to the body of the car, connect radials or make an "HF mat" of conductive material).
